Is the Canva Scheduler the Right Choice for Pinterest Scheduling?
Canva is one of the best design platforms to create Pinterest pins. The platform also has the option to schedule pins. The Canva scheduler s a great option for scheduling pins if you want a simplistic and easy scheduling tool.

What is Canva mainly used for?
Since Canva was founded in 2012, it has become one of the best design platforms, particularly for social media. Canva allows users to create designs with templates, making the designing so much easier.

Can Canva Schedule Pinterest?
If you have Canva Pro, you can use the Canva scheduler for Pinterest scheduling. The Canva scheduler is a very easy scheduler to use. It allows you to schedule from Pinterest directly from the design or from the content calendar, called the Canva Content Planner.
You are able to input all your information, choose a date, and within minutes, your pin will be scheduled to Pinterest. If you’re looking for an all-in-one platform that will allow you to design and schedule, Canva is an excellent option.
How do I Automate Content in Canva Scheduling on Canva Free?
Unfortunately, Canva does not have a free option for scheduling. Their free plan does not offer Pinterest scheduling or any other type of social media scheduling. You will need to have Canva Pro to access these features. That being said, Canva Pro offers additional templates, stock photos and other features that you cannot use in the free plan.

How to Use Canva Scheduler
One of the great things about the Canva scheduler is that you can schedule to Pinterest from the design itself and from the Canva Content Planner. We’re going to discuss how you can schedule from both as well as, how to edit your Pinterest pin after it has been scheduled.
Pinterest Scheduling from the Design in Canva
You’ve created your pin design and now you’re ready to share it. Pinterest scheduling from the Canva design is really easy. The first step is to ensure that your design is ready for scheduling and then access your pin description and title information.
Now that you have all your information, in your design, go to the “Share” button on the top-right side of your screen.
The next step is to scroll down and click “…More” Then scroll down again to “Social” and click the Pinterest icon.
Click the dropdown arrow and choose your board.
Input your title, description and website URL.
You then need to choose your design. If you only have a one page design, it will be automatic. If you have several pin designs, you will need to choose the correct page. You cannot choose more than one page. Carousel posts are not an option.
Next, click the little calendar on the left-side of the “Publish Now” button and choose the date and time that you would like your Pinterest pin to be scheduled. Then click “Done”.
Lastly, click the purple “Schedule” button. That’s it. Your pin is scheduled. Canva then gives you the option to make a copy of your design or go to the Content Planner, but you can also click the “X” and go back to your design.
Pinterest Scheduling from the Canva Content Planner
The Content Planner is a calendar that shows all your scheduled content as well as world events and any other events that you have added to the calendar. The Content Planner is easy to schedule from and has steps similar to scheduling from the design.
In the menu, click “Apps” > “Content Planner”.
Choose the date that you would like your Pin to be scheduled on and hover over the top right of the calendar date until you see a + sign. Click the button.
Choose your design by looking through the recent designs or clicking the button above it that says “Your projects”. In “Your projects” you can search for your design.
Once you’ve selected your design Click the dropdown arrow and click the + button to select a channel. Choose Pinterest.
Then, choose the appropriate Pinterest board.
If you have more than one page, you will need to choose the page number of the page you would like scheduled.
Input your title, description and website URL.
Click “Schedule”.
Your pin is now scheduled. If you look at the calendar on the date that you choose, you will see a small icon of your scheduled pin.
Canva Scheduling Cons
While Canva it an amazing option if you’re looking for a platform that will help you design and schedule content. There are some negative aspects to consider.
Scheduling More than One Page
The most annoying thing about the Canva Scheduler is that you cannot schedule each individual page in your design. Once you’ve chosen a page to schedule, you cannot schedule any other page in your design.
The only way to schedule another design is to copy the entire design file or create an individual file for each pin design. Hopefully, Canva corrects this problem in the future.
No Interval Scheduling
Canva doesn’t allow you to reschedule the same pin automatically to a different board every 30 days. What’s worse is that you can’t even copy the pin or reschedule the design.
In the Content Planner, it looks as though you can copy the scheduled pin and reschedule it on a different date. However, Canva is actually copying your design so that you can create a new scheduled pin. Even if your design only has one page in it, you can only schedule it once. You cannot copy it to schedule it on another date.
Editing a Scheduled Post
Being a design platform, you would think that Canva would make editing the images your scheduled posts easy, unfortunately, this isn’t the case.
You can go to the scheduled pin and click “Edit design”, however, You will get a notification that says, “Editing this design will pause the scheduled post. You’ll need to schedule it again to update the post”.
While most schedulers don’t let you edit the image after scheduling, I feel as though this is a feature that Canva should provide, being a design program.
That being said, it does allow you to update your title, description and URL. This can be done by clicking the icon of the Pinterest pin in the Content Planner.
Pinterest Scheduling Alternatives
If the Canva scheduler isn’t the right Pinterest scheduler choice for you, there are other schedulers to choose from. Three of the top alternatives to Canva Pro are:
- Planoly
- Buffer
- Tailwind
Planoly
Planoly is one of my favorite Pinterest Schedulers. It has a beautiful aesthetic and is really intuitive. Planoly allows scheduling for Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok.
Planoly also has a chrome extension that allows you to pull images and their data into the scheduler. Lastly, I love how you can upload Canva designs directly in Planoly.
Buffer
Buffer is a great budget option scheduler. Their free plan provides up to 3 channels (for Example, 2 facebook pages and 1 Pinterest account) and their paid plans are charged by the channel.
Buffer is very easy to use and has a simplistic design. You can also create a pin directly from the calendar view. Buffer does have a Chrome extension, but it will only pull the image.
If you’re looking for simplicity and value, Buffer may be the right option for you.
Tailwind
Tailwind has been one of the leading Pinterest schedulers for years. This platform provides high quality features that will enable you to complete all aspects of Pinterest pin creation. With Tailwind, you will be able to design, write and schedule your pin.
Like Planoly, Tailwind also has a chrome extension, allowing you to pull Pinterest images directly from your website.
Tailwind also has an AI feature called Ghostwriter. This AI feature will automatically generate a pin description based on the topic and your chosen keywords.

So, is Canva Good for Content Scheduling?
The Canva scheduler is a good option for scheduling your Pinterest pins, particularly if you’re wanting to invest in a good design platform as well. Unfortunately, it does have some scheduling cons that make scheduling more difficult than other scheduling platforms. However, if you’re willing to adjust your technique, Canva Pro can offer you everything you need to design and schedule your pins.
